New Acton Nishi
A sustainable design commercial office building in Canberra.
The New Acton Nishi represents a significant advance in environmental sustainable design and is an innovative response to the future of residential development in Australia. The mixed-use commercial building and apartment complex represents the third and final stage of the New Acton precinct in Canberra and has achieved a 6 star Green Rating office rating.
Nishi was designed in consultation with engineering consultant group ARUP to meet key success drivers, identified by Molongo Group. These drivers include the need to cater for growing niche demographics, affordable housing that does not compromise design excellence, and unrelenting commitment to environmental and cultural sustainability and rejection of single use developments.
BSA was contracted to deliver the mechanical services for the 11 storey office building located at the eastern end of the site, home to the Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency. The building has a chilled and heating water plant, with under-floor displacement to the office floors.
BSA's wholly owned subsidary, Allstaff Air-Conditioning, has been involved with suppy, installation and on-going maintenance and repair on this internationally acclaimed building.
